Start Your Business contest for women entrepreneurs, announced by Bai-Tushum Bank and Jer Azygy AAK in December 2014 culminated on May 20 in the city of Osh.

The project was targeting the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs in Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad. During the contest period, 272 women aged 18 to 45 completed business planning, entrepreneurship and leadership training. Following the two-day training and sessions delivered by the representatives of local business associations and private business, 30 participants were invited to present their business plans that were considered by the selection board made up of local experts. Entrepreneurs’ applications included, for instance, such initiatives as the establishment of kindergarten, construction of greenhouse, launch of textile workshop.

Bai-Tushum Bank acted as the General Sponsor for the contest and provided KGS 1 million as a prize fund! Based on the decision made by the selection board the following 14 people were chosen as contest finalists.

For the support of their innovative business plans the winners will get loans at lower interest rates for the total amount of KGS 1 million.

Moreover, 9 people are going to receive  Start-Up finance from the Bank under Kiva Fund line.
