Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic depends on agriculture. A high-altitude lake named Issyk-Kul is famous for its natural beauty, clean and azure water. Local people, seeing a big potential in fish breeding work in this sphere. And exactly thanks to active work of such fish breeders, population of fish in the Issyk-Kul lake is being increased. After collapse of the Soviet Union a lot of units of fish farms and factories were closed down due to out-of-date equipment and lack of financing. Only several fish factories succeeded in adaptation to new market conditions. In 2000 Esen Alamanov, a resident of Borubash v., Aksu region established his own private fish enterprise. He rented 75 hectares of area on the outskirts of Borubash v. with basins for fish breeding, and installed a setting for rising of a trout. Since 2000 he has raised and bred 5 kinds of fishes: cisco, trout, peled and carp. |

 Biymyrzaeva Zamira lives in the village of Kyzyl-Suu, Talas region, she was born in 1955. She is a very busy and hard-working person, and cannot sit idle even for a minute. It was her fate that in 2002 after a sudden stroke of her husband, she was left alone with her children. She didn’t hope for others to help and instead she began to work to feed her children. She faced some difficulties with money, because she had to solve all the household problems. So in 2007, she learned from her friends about the Company "Bai-Tushum & Partners”, and after a detailed consultation on the terms of a loan, she received her first loan in amount of 100 000 soms to purchase milk cows and the feed for them. By the end of the season, thanks to her hard-work and perseverance, she was able to increase the cattle number up to 2 times. Zamira is very neat and diligent, together with the cattle breeding she has been growing crops. Having accurately used the money she repaid the first loan. |

 Our hero, Tashmamatov Abduvali Parpievich (born in 1964, a native of Chon-Alay region, Osh oblast) didn’t stand out among his fellow villagers.
After graduation from the high school he served in the Soviet Army and returned to his native village, where he helped his parents growing crops. However, without machinery, sufficient working capital to purchase the seeds, fuel, etc. there was no chance of a significant development, so the family was barely making ends meet. |

 A minor homeland of legendary Kyrgyz heroes – Alymbek Datka and Alay empress Kurmanjan- lies in the embrace of snowy mountains “Josholu”. The spruces and junipers aspiring upwards cover “Josholu” mountains, where the river of crystal clear water, calm in spring, though violent and rapid in spring runs through. The “Josholu” villagers for centuries have been engaged in cattle breeding and cultivation of land. |

Of course, we are not to judge anyone, whether they have a right attitude to life. But we can confidently say that there are a lot of optimists in this life. 28.08.2010 Company carries out a rebranding process
 10 years of successful work allowed the Company to take a leading position on the Kyrgyz Republic market. 26.08.2010 Company, together with “Kiva” fund has introduced a new social-oriented project
 Company, together with “Kiva” Fund has launched a new social-oriented project in Bishkek, Talas, Osh, Djalal-Abad and Naryn branches. In the frame of this project loans are being disbursed to socially-vulnerable segments of people with the grace interest rate for two years period. Till the end of September Company plans to implement the project in other branches. Implementation of the pilot project was carried out with the participation of Sam Trauffer – Kiva Foundation fellow, who came to our country for the purpose of rendering assistance to the Company on implementation of the project.

03.08.2010 The EBRD has provided the first tranche of KGS 67.5 million to “Bai-Tushum and Partners” Company as part of the agreement, signed in March, 2010
The EBRD is providing KGS 67.5 million to the Micro Finance Company “Bai-Tushum and Partners” for on-lending to micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Today the Bank has disbursed the first of two equal tranches under a KGS 135 million (equivalent of USD 3 million) loan agreement signed in March 2010.
